In corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions are transactions in which the ownership of companies, other business organizations, or their operating units are transferred or consolidated with other entities. As an aspect of strategic management, M&A can allow enterprises to grow or downsize, and change the nature of their business or competitive position.

As such Mergers & Acquisitions and Joint Ventures is a commercial enterprise formed as an arrangement between two or more parties who hold a joint control over it. Kenya does not have any exclusive or specific regulations and laws relating to Joint Venture and the enterprise is subject to the regulations specific to the business form it takes and the sector it desires to operate.
